FUTURE LEADERS

Vision Statement:

The Future Leaders Program envisions a future where youth from under-resourced communities have the resources and support needed to strengthen academic behaviors and leadership skills. The ultimate goal is to empower these youth to break the cycle of poverty, fostering a mindset and skill set that enables them to envision and pursue diverse opportunities while making healthy, informed decisions.

The Future Leaders Program aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of youth from under-resourced communities, empowering them to overcome challenges, pursue their aspirations, and become leaders in their communities and beyond.

Target Population:

The program targets youth aged 14-19, a critical period in their academic and personal development. With a commitment to positive post-secondary outcomes and life skills development, the program strives to provide participants with career readiness skills, volunteer and employment opportunities, and increased connections to secondary education options.

Program Structure:

The Future Leaders Program is designed to run from October to July each year, incorporating a holistic approach to development. Participants will engage in at least two one-hour soccer training sessions and two one-hour classroom sessions per month. The soccer skills sessions not only enhance participants' athletic abilities but also foster teamwork and discipline. The classroom sessions focus on positive post-secondary outcomes, guided by program staff working closely with schoolteachers and guidance counselors to align with participants' academic goals.
